OCC Hosts Exhibit by Artist Rudy Kistler
The Olney Central College Library Gallery will showcase the work of alumni artist Rudy Kistler in a special one-night-only exhibition from 5 to 8 p.m. on August 22. Titled, The Long Road Home, the exhibit features new landscape and still life paintings, all of which will be available for purchase that evening. Kistler鈥檚 artistic journey began at Olney Central College, where he first honed his creative skills. He later advanced his studies at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and The National Art School in Sydney, Australia.

OCC Student-Athletes Earn NJCAA Academic Honors
Olney Central College student-athletes excelled in the classroom during the 2024鈥2025 academic year, achieving impressive results that earned national recognition. All four athletic programs were recognized as NJCAA Academic Teams of the Year 鈥 with each having players recognized as NJCAA Academic All-Americans. 鈥淲e had 22 individual Academic All-Americans, which is roughly 30 percent of all athletes,鈥 said OCC Athletic Director and Softball Coach Nick Short. 鈥淭hat is a crazy high number.鈥

Get Ready For Fall With Moonlight Mondays at OCC
Olney Central College is making it easier than ever for students to prepare for the upcoming semester with Moonlight Mondays 鈥 special evening hours dedicated to helping students take care of everything they need to start strong this fall. On Mondays, August 11, 18 and 25, key campus offices will be open from 4 to 8 p.m., giving students more flexibility to register after traditional business hours. Services available include: admissions, advising, the Bookstore, Business Office, Financial Aid, Learning Commons and Records Office.

WVC Launches Community Choir Class This Fall鈥擮pen to Students and Local Singers
Mount Carmel, IL 鈥 Wabash Valley College (WVC) is proud to announce the launch of a new Community Choir class this fall, inviting both students and local residents to come together through the joy of music. Under the direction of Mikayla Beck, the choir will rehearse throughout the semester and perform at The Brubeck Arts Center on Saturday, December 6. The class is open to all who love to sing鈥攚hether you're a music major, a seasoned vocalist, or simply someone who enjoys making music with others.

High school students taking dual credit classes at 黑料社, Lincoln Trail College, Olney Central College, and Wabash Valley College will get the chance to prepare with dual credit orientations. FCC, LTC, and OCC will host in-person sessions, and there will also be virtual sessions. 鈥淒ual Credit Orientation is an introduction to what college classes are like,鈥 says IECC Director of Dual Credit Erin Volk. 鈥淐ollege classes are a change for high school students, and we want them to be prepared so they can be successful.鈥

LTC's New Student Orientation Set for August 19
As Lincoln Trail College prepares for the upcoming academic year, students can look forward to a blend of helpful resources and exciting activities designed to set them up for success. The 2025-26 school year kicks off with New Student Orientation on Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event introduces new students to campus life, student support services, and academic expectations.
