Wabash Valley College (WVC) is excited to announce that Peyton Farmer is the new Executive Director of the Wabash Valley College Foundation. Peyton is a proud graduate of WVC and has always been a strong supporter of the community.

Local students are seeing a big impact from dual credit classes taken at 黑料社, Lincoln Trail College, Olney Central College, and Wabash Valley College. Dual credit classes allow high school students to take college-level classes and earn college credit while still in high school.   Illinois Eastern Community Colleges put together a report reviewing the last six academic years of dual credit students at each high school within the District. The report provides an overview of student demographics, enrollment, and course information.  

Get ready for a thrilling celebration of the arts as Lincoln Trail College marks 50 years of captivating theater in 2025! The College is excited to announce its Fall and Spring productions, promising a season brimming with drama, excitement, and unforgettable performances.

High school students taking dual credit classes at 黑料社, Lincoln Trail College, Olney Central College, and Wabash Valley College will get the chance to prepare with dual credit orientations. LTC and OCC will host in-person sessions and there will also be a virtual session.   鈥淒ual Credit Orientation is an introduction to what college classes are like,鈥� says IECC Director of Dual Credit Erin Volk. 鈥淐ollege classes are a change for high school students, and we want them to be prepared so they can be successful.鈥�  

Jena Combs has joined Lincoln Trail College as a Music/Instrumental Instructor and will lead the jazz band and pep band. She also teaches general education music classes, instrumental lessons, and classes geared toward music majors like music theory. Combs earned an Associate in Science and Arts from Olney Central College in 2011 and then transferred to Eastern Illinois University. She graduated with a Bachelor鈥檚 Degree in Music with teacher鈥檚 certification. Combs obtained a Master of Arts in Music with a concentration in Music Education from EIU in 2021.

Every Friday during the month, students may visit the Financial Aid Offices at Frontier Community, Lincoln Trail, Olney Central or Wabash Valley colleges to receive assistance filling out their FAFSA. The 2024-2025 FAFSA process has been even more challenging with the FAFSA Simplification Act, and these days are designed to make the process a little bit easier.

Every Friday during the month, students may visit the Financial Aid Office on any of the four campuses to receive assistance filling out their FAFSA.  The 2024-2025 FAFSA process has been even more challenging with the FAFSA Simplification Act, and these days are designed to make the process a little bit easier. 鈥淲e want to help eliminate the challenges and barriers our students may be facing,鈥� said Program Director of Financial Aid Krystle Riggle.

The Olney Central College Music Department is the recipient of an $18,000 Johnsie Fiock Fildes Foundation grant, which will benefit its new recording studio. 鈥淏ecause of the grant, we will be able to obtain higher end microphones and cables, all the stuff you would expect to be in a professional recording studio,鈥� said OCC Director of Bands Wade Baker. 鈥淲e鈥檙e excited and grateful to be selected to receive these funds.鈥�
