LTC Offering Class on Super Foods
Lincoln Trail College and the University of Illinois Extension will continue their Nutrition Series at LTC with a free program on super foods on March 11, 2020.
The program will give people a chance to learn more about a vegetarian diet and also give people the chance to learn about the research behind super foods and what gives them that 鈥渟uper鈥 quality.

LTC Offering Spanish for Kids Class
Your child will get a chance to begin learning a second language in Lincoln Trail College鈥檚 Spanish for Kids class.
The four-week long program begins March 12, 2020 and meets from 6-7 p.m. on Thursdays. Children will learn some of the basic concepts of the Spanish language, including greetings and expressions of courtesy, the alphabet, numbers, colors, animals, and human body parts. Children will also learn cultural facts about many Latin American countries.

LTC Offering CPR Class
Lincoln Trail College will offer a CPR class for the community on March 14, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
Students will learn how to provide CPR to an adult, child or infant and how to use an automated external defibrillator. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a CPR card through the American Heart Association.
The cost of the class is $35, and students can register for the class by calling 618-544-8657.

LTC Offering Chalk Couture Class
People that want to learn more about Chalk Couture can take a class at Lincoln Trial College on March 23, 2020 at 6:30 p.m.
Chalk Couture is a DIY home d茅cor craft product line with reusable transfers. The introductory class will feature a make-and-take beginner project.
The cost of the class is $30, which includes all of the supplies for the project. Students can register for Chalk Couture by calling 618-544-8657.

Quilting Class Coming to LTC
Students that want to begin quilting will have an opportunity to take a class at Lincoln Trail College. Beginning Quilting will be offered on Tuesdays starting March 24, 2020.
The class will offer an introduction to beginning piecing for quilts. Students will learn proper cutting techniques, proper pressing techniques, and to perfect sewing a 录鈥 seam while working on a lap quilt. Students should know basic sewing skills for the class and students will need to bring their own sewing machine. A list of supplies will be provided during the first class.

LTC Offering Advanced Painting Class
Lincoln Trail College will offer an advanced painting class beginning March 24, 2020.
Advanced Painting is a survey of painting techniques in all media with particular demonstrations of landscape in watercolor and acrylic and portrait in acrylic and oils. The class is appropriate for students with past painting experience.
Advanced Painting is offering Tuesdays from 6:30-9:00 p.m. March 24 through April 28. The cost is $90, and students can register by calling 618-544-8657.

Improv Workshop Returns to LTC
Lincoln Trail College is going to offer a six-week improv workshop beginning March 31, 2020.
The workshop, led by Chris Forde, will introduce people to improvisational skills through a variety of games. People familiar with the TV show Whose Line Is It Anyway? will recognize games like Scenes from a Hat, World鈥檚 Worst, and Questions Only. The workshop will culminate with a performance.

Learn Cake Decorating with LTC
Lincoln Trail College will offer a four-week long class on cake decorating beginning March 25, 2020.
Students will learn basic techniques for borders and flowers during the class. All of the supplies you will need for the class will be provided.
Cake Decorating will be Wednesdays from 6-7:30 p.m. March 25-April 15 at the Robinson Community Center. There is limited space available in the class and students must register in advance by calling 618-544-8657. The cost of the class is $50.

Dean Enjoying Disney Internship
Hannah Dean says one day, she would like to recruit for the program she鈥檚 doing right now. Dean is participating in the Disney College Program in Florida. Though she鈥檚 only been in the program for a few weeks, she says it is already one of the most incredible experiences she鈥檚 ever had.
Dean, who is in Lincoln Trail College鈥檚 Associate of Science and Arts program, is currently working in a food and beverage program at Disney鈥檚 Animal Kingdom. Once the weather is warmer, she鈥檒l transfer to Lottawatta Lodge at Disney鈥檚 Blizzard Beach Water Park.

Community Colleges Pathways to Medicine Program Begins
Students interested in pursuing a career in medical, nursing, and other healthcare-related occupations can attend a free program February 11 put on by Lincoln Trail College and the SIU School of Medicine.
鈥淢any students are interested in medical and health-related professions,鈥 says Lincoln Trail College Dean of Instruction Brent Todd. 鈥淲ith that said, some are unfamiliar with the application processes and procedures. The idea with the Community College Pathways to Medicine program is to help students better understand what they need to do to get into healthcare.鈥
