Lincoln Trail College women鈥檚 basketball coach Scott Sparks says one of Jaylynn Brown鈥檚 dreams was to play Division One basketball. Now she鈥檒l realize that dream after committing to the University of North Carolina Greensboro.
Sparks says they鈥檒l be getting a very versatile player in Brown. 鈥淚 know they need her and I think she鈥檚 going to bring a lot of success for them. I told their coaching staff there that I know you want her to play the one and she wants to play the one, the point guard spot, but she鈥檚 so versatile you can literally play her almost anywhere on the floor. They鈥檝e seen that she can play the point, but they haven鈥檛 seen the other roles she can play on the court. I think that鈥檚 going to be a great surprise for them.鈥
Brown led the Lady Statesmen in scoring this past season, averaging 13.7 points per game. She also averaged 6.8 rebounds per game while earning All-Region and All-Conference honors.
Sparks says in addition to her strengths on the court, Brown is a great teammate and a very good student.
