September 18th through September 22nd, 2023 is Adult Education and Family Literacy week. The Illinois Eastern Community College Adult Education Program is committed to helping students succeed and strengthen their communities.

Olney Central College鈥檚 Summer 2023 LPN graduates achieved a perfect 100-percent pass rate on the NCLEX examination. 鈥淭he pass rate for 2023 LPNs at Olney Central College is reflective of the hard work and dedication of our nursing faculty and students,鈥� said IECC Dean of Health Professions Dr. Alani Frederick. 鈥淲ith an emphasis on clinical judgment and the application of nursing knowledge, the faculty at Olney Central are preparing students to work in a modern and complex healthcare environment.鈥�

Lincoln Trail College Theater Director Taylor Dahlberg has named the cast for The Arts at Lincoln Trail College鈥檚 production of God of Carnage. The part of Alan Raleigh will be played by Lincoln 鈥淛ake鈥� Wright while Annette Raleigh will be played by Grae Drake. Brennan Tracy plays the part of Michael Novak and Rachel Carter plays Veronica Novak.

Olney Central College invites high school seniors to learn more about OCC鈥檚 academic programs and college life during the annual Blue Preview on September 29. 鈥淭his is a great opportunity for high school seniors to talk with faculty and current students one on one about their experience at OCC and everything our college has to offer,鈥� said College Admission Representative Curtis Miller.

Registration Form Olney Central College Men鈥檚 Basketball will host its annual Blue Knight Golf Classic on Saturday, October 14 at the Richland Country Club in Olney. Registration and lunch will begin at 11:45 a.m. with tee-off set for 1 p.m.

Learn life-changing money management strategies with financial expert Dr. Linda Simpson during a lunch and learn event on Sept. 25 at Olney Central College. Simpson鈥檚 presentation Creating a New Money Mindset promotes financial goal setting, mindful and emotional spending and teaches individuals how to assess their own current financial situation. The goal is to assist individuals in understanding the reasons behind their money management behaviors and to help them build a solid, sustainable financial plan.

Lincoln Trail College has named Taylor Dahlberg its new Theater Director. In this role, Dahlberg will be responsible for directing LTC productions, facilitating Summer Children鈥檚 Theatre, managing the Zwermann Performing Arts Center, and occasionally teaching theater classes.

The West Richland Center will be formally renamed and dedicated in honor of former Illinois Eastern Community Colleges Chief Executive Officer Terry Bruce during a ceremony on September 29 at 10:30 a.m.   Bruce served as IECC鈥檚 CEO for 23 years, retiring in 2019. The Board of Trustees issued a proclamation in June dedicating the West Richland Center to honor Bruce鈥檚 legacy. 鈥淚 was very surprised,鈥� said Bruce. 鈥淚t was not something I had ever thought about, but I鈥檓 very honored.鈥�  

Illinois Eastern Community Colleges will observe Constitution Day on Monday, September 18, 2023 (www.iecc.edu/usa).  The IECC colleges will observe Constitution Day with a variety of activities and resources to promote the study of the Constitution.   The IECC colleges will be participating with various events:   FCC - 黑料社鈥�

Lincoln Trail College Theater Director Taylor Dahlberg announced audition information for the College鈥檚 fall production of God of Carnage. Auditions will take place September 11 and 13 at 6 p.m. each night in the Zwermann Arts Center Theater.
