If you鈥檝e ever watched TV shows like Whose Line Is It Anyway? and thought you鈥檇 like to try that yourself, you can at Lincoln Trail College. The College is offering an improv class in April. The class will serve as a fun introduction to the world of improv comedy. Students will learn the basics of improv in a fun, hands-on way by playing popular games as seen on TV. It culminates with a live performance on May 4. The class is led by seasoned improviser Chris Forde.

Macrame has seen a resurgence in popularity and Lincoln Trail College is offering a class on it in April. Becky Miller will teach Macrame Moments at LTC. Students will learn basic knots and combinations while working on a class project. Macrame Moments meets from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday nights April 5-26. The cost of the class is $40. People looking to find the best seller inside them have a chance to take a class at Lincoln Trail College. LTC is offering a Creative Writing class through its Community Education Program. The class will serve as a general introduction to creative writing for any level of writer. Students will learn skills to enhance the writing experience. The goal of the class is to complete a short project of the student鈥檚 choosing. Local author Rick Kelsheimer will lead the course.

If you鈥檝e ever wanted to get started learning sign language, Lincoln Trail College will offer you an opportunity in April. The College is offering a Basic American Sign Language Class.   Students will learn the basics of American Sign Language, including ABCs, counting, words, basic greetings, and phrases. Tony Austin leads the class.   Basic Sign Language meets on Wednesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. April 6-27. It costs $45.  

Trombonist Dominik Bauer will hold a concert and masterclass at Lincoln Trail College on April 26. The concert takes place at 6:00 p.m. in DeMent Auditorium in Lackey Music Hall with the masterclass following the concert.   鈥淲e鈥檙e incredibly excited to host Dominik Bauer at Lincoln Trail College,鈥� said LTC Director of Fine Arts Dr. Michael Patilla. 鈥淗e is a world-class trombonist and an incredible talent.鈥�  

Friday, March 18th, Wabash Valley College was pleased to once again host Wabash General Hospital at the WVC campus for one of our largest and most successful cadaver events yet. Our resident Nursing and PTA faculty were able to meet with over 200 students during the day to discuss options in education, career, and requirements thereof. Conference Schedule Some of the nation鈥檚 foremost experts on the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. will gather April 8-9 for a conference at Olney Central College.

The Olney Central College Theater was just a week away from opening night of Mamma Mia! in 2020, when COVID-19 restrictions brought the production to a halt. 鈥淎t the time, we thought we would be back in a few weeks and do the production either in the summer or fall. We never imagined it would be two years,鈥� said Director Sherry Brauer. The cast and crew are excited to finally bring the long-anticipated musical to the Ruth Henry Stage. Performances are at 7 p.m. on March 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26 with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. on March 20 and 27.

Olney Central College鈥檚 Anderson Library will host a used book sale from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 9. The public is invited to attend the sale which will feature a variety of genres and authors. Other libraries have even donated items for the event. Director of Instructional Support Services Chad Groves said he and Library Assistant Kaitlyn Weger have been looking for ways to strengthen ties with the community and invite area residents to visit the facility. The idea for the sale emerged from those conversations.

Olney Central College is introducing new cutting-edge technology to its anatomy lab with the addition of an Anatomage Table. The life-sized, 3D interactive device, enables students to perform virtual dissection. With the swipe of a finger, students can peel back layers of the digitally created body, exposing muscles, organs and bones. Students can even watch the heart beating as blood flows through the circulatory system.
