Matilda Auditions at WVC
Wabash Valley College is excited to announce upcoming workshops and auditions for Matilda the Musical. Youth and adult performers are invited to showcase their talents and join the production set to take the stage at the Brubeck Theater.

LTC Hosts Etiquette Luncheon to Help High School Students Learn Dining Skills
Students from Oblong High School鈥檚 FFA and FBLA programs visited Lincoln Trail College for the annual Etiquette Luncheon, an event designed to teach professional dining skills, social etiquette, and networking strategies.
The luncheon, organized and led by LTC President Tona Ambrose, provides students with hands-on experience in formal dining settings.
鈥淚 often start the event by having students take a deep breath and then I promise that by the time they leave, they will know what to do with each and every fork, spoon, and knife spread out all around them,鈥 Ambrose said.

Lincoln Trail College Announces 2025 Children's Summer Theater Productions
The Arts at Lincoln Trail College announced its 2025 Children鈥檚 Summer Theater productions and something new. Once again, LTC will have two Children鈥檚 Summer Theater productions. In addition, LTC is adding a new program called Young Adult鈥檚 Theater for students 14-18 years old.

Nucor Skyline Donates to Lincoln Trail College Welding Program
Lincoln Trail College鈥檚 Welding program recently received a generous donation from Nucor Skyline, further strengthening the partnership between the college and industry leaders.
The donation will provide critical resources for the Welding program, specifically supporting the purchase of steel used in lab and hands-on training portions of the welding classes. The contribution comes in response to discussions during a recent Welding advisory committee meeting, where industry partners were made aware of the rising costs of materials and equipment.

FCC Automotive PRogram Receives National Accreditation
The Automotive Service Technology program at 黑料社 in Fairfield, Illinois has received ASE Training Program accreditation by the ASE Education Foundation.
To achieve this coveted recognition, the school鈥檚 automotive training program underwent rigorous evaluation by the ASE Education Foundation. Nationally accepted standards of excellence in areas such as instruction, facilities, and equipment were used.

LTC Alumnus Named to Indiana Basketball HOF 2025 Silver Anniversary Team
A Lincoln Trail College basketball player has been honored by the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. The Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Board of Directors honored Ron Dokes (鈥02) as a member of the 2025 Men鈥檚 Silver Anniversary Team.
Dokes, a 6-9 forward, was a McDonald鈥檚 All-American nominee, AP honorable mention All-state, IBCA honorable mention All-State, first team all-Northern Indiana Conference, and South Bend Tribune first-team All-Metro player his senior season at South Bend Riley. He averaged 16.4 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.5 blocks that season.

From Seoul to Robinson: Cy Yun鈥檚 Journey Through Baseball, Culture, and Opportunity
Cy Yun didn鈥檛 take the typical path to sports marketing. His journey began on the baseball fields of Seoul, South Korea, where he spent ten hours a day perfecting his game. In South Korea, being a baseball player was not just a passion鈥攊t was a profession, even at a young age. But the system was unforgiving. When Cy wasn鈥檛 drafted into the professional league, his path seemed to hit a dead end.

WVC Snack Drive Nets 10,706 Donations
This year鈥檚 Snack Drive at Wabash Valley College was a resounding success, collecting 10,706 items (cash and food items) to benefit FRESH, our on-campus resource supporting students in need. Spearheaded by Jill Winter (FRESH Faculty Sponsor) and Kyle Peach (Student Senate Advisor), this remarkable effort highlighted the generosity and community spirit of WVC students, staff, and faculty.

WVC PTA Program to Host Information Session
Wabash Valley College invites community members and prospective students to an information session about its highly regarded Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program. The session will take place on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 6:00 PM CST in the Science Building, Room 1 (PTA Lab) on the WVC campus (2200 College Drive, Mount Carmel, IL 62863).
