By Bryce Thompson Lady Warrior sophomore guard Beautiful Waheed has shined during her time at Wabash. She was an essential part of the 2023-24 team that made it to the final four of the NJCAA Division I National Championship. 

Lincoln Trail College is proud to announce the opening of The Barn, a state-of-the-art athletic performance center designed to enhance the training and development of its student-athletes. Located on the LTC campus, The Barn features a comprehensive weight room, modern cardiovascular equipment, and an indoor training facility for baseball and softball that can also be adapted for indoor soccer practice. This multifunctional approach ensures that student-athletes from various sports can benefit from top-notch training environments year-round.

Intelligent.com, a widely recognized source for higher education rankings and research, has included Lincoln Trail College in its annual assessment, awarding it The Best Community Colleges for 2025. In their rankings of the Top 50 Community Colleges in the United States, LTC was ranked 40th.

Lincoln Trail College is excited to welcome Caleb Kamplain as the new Academic Advisor for its TRIO Student Support Services program. Kamplain, a former LTC student himself, brings a deep passion for higher education and a commitment to empowering students to overcome academic and personal barriers.

Maddox McElravy of Jewett was recently awarded the Steve Rafferty Memorial Scholarship by ºÚÁÏÉç in Fairfield.  The Steve Rafferty Memorial Scholarship was established in March 2014.  Rafferty served as the Lead Faculty for the Electrical Distribution Systems program at FCC from 2008 until his passing in March 2014.  This scholarship is awarded exclusively to students enrolled in the FCC Electrical Distribution Systems program.

Two ºÚÁÏÉç Electrical Distribution Systems students Caleb Hardy, from Opdyke, and Jeffrey Short, from Newton, were recently awarded the Earl R. Pottorff Memorial Scholarship.  

Three ºÚÁÏÉç students were recently awarded the Wayne-White County Electrical Co-Op Scholarship in honor of Gerry Kinney. Caleb Hardy, of Opdyke, Asa Cannon, of Norris City, and Jeffrey Short of Newton were this year’s recipients, all three are currently enrolled in the Electrical Distribution Systems Program.

The Olney Central College Radiography Program is hosting Informational Meetings to assist students in applying for Fall 2025. During the presentations, participants will learn more about the program and the application process as they prepare to take the first step toward a rewarding healthcare career. On October 16th, Wabash Valley College hosted Diesel Day, an exciting event designed to give high school students a firsthand look at the field of Diesel Equipment Technology. The day-long event provided students with insight into the high-demand career and offered hands-on learning opportunities guided by industry professionals.
