Lincoln Trail College Technology Center Moving Forward
Lincoln Trail College鈥檚 new Technology Center will open in 2025. The State of Illinois awarded the contract to the architectural firm Graham & Hyde, Inc. for the building.

2022 Children's Summer Theater Plans Announced
Lincoln Trail College Children鈥檚 Summer Theater will return in 2022 with two shows. LTC will perform Winnie the Pooh Kids and Lion King Jr. in June under the direction of Mindy Evans.
Winnie the Pooh Kids will be for kids entering 1st through 4th grades. Performance dates are June 23 and 24 at 7 p.m. Rehearsals are May 31 through June 23 from 9-11 a.m.
Lion King Jr. will be for kids entering 5th through 9th grades. Performances are June 25 at 7 p.m. and June 26 at 2 p.m. Rehearsals are May 31 through June 23 from 12-2 p.m.

Details Finalized for Rec Center on LTC Campus
The Crawford County Recreation Center and Illinois Eastern Community College finalized the terms for the transfer of funds to start construction on a new recreation center on the campus of Lincoln Trail College. Construction work on the new facility will begin in the early spring and is expected to be completed by late 2022.
鈥淭his is very exciting,鈥 said CCRC president Bill Sandiford. 鈥淭his has been a grassroots effort for several years and now we鈥檙e moving forward with the project.鈥

IECC Awards $180,000 in Success Scholarships
Frontier Community, Lincoln Trail, Olney Central, and Wabash Valley colleges awarded nearly $180,000 to area high school students in the first round of Illinois Eastern Community Colleges鈥 Priority Deadline Success Scholarships.
IECC Director of Financial Aid Andrea Puckett said the tuition awards demonstrate IECC鈥檚 commitment to seeing area students successfully achieve their higher education goals. The scholarships are renewable for up to four semesters 鈥 Fall 2022, Spring 2023, Fall 2023, and Spring 2024, not including summer courses.

LTC Named Aspen Prize Top 150 US Community College
WASHINGTON, D.C., November 2, 2021 鈥 Today, the Aspen Institute named Lincoln Trail College one of the 150 institutions eligible to compete for the $1 million Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, the nation's signature recognition of high achievement and performance among America's community colleges. The colleges selected for this honor stand out among more than 1,000 community colleges nationwide as having high and improving levels of student success as well as equitable outcomes for Black and Hispanic students and those from lower-income backgrounds.

LTC Announces Performance of All Together Now!
Lincoln Trail College announced that they will be joining thousands of theatrical organizations around the globe by producing their own local production of Music Theatre International鈥檚 All Together Now!: A Global Event Celebrating Local Theatre. Theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI) created this revue for theatres across the globe to use as a local fundraising event performed over the same weekend of November 12, 2021. Lincoln Trail College鈥檚 performances are scheduled for November 12 and 13 at 7:00 p.m. and November 14 at 2:00 p.m.

LTC Fall Concert November 2
Lincoln Trail College will hold a concert on November 2 at 7:00 p.m. at the Zwermann Arts Center Theater. The concert will feature performances by the LTC Trumpet Choir, the Statesmen Singers, and the LTC Jazz Band.
鈥淪ince this concert will be close to Veterans Day, we wanted to perform some music to pay tribute to our veterans and America,鈥 says Dr. Michael Patilla. 鈥淭he Trumpet Choir is performing The Star-Spangled Banner and the Statesmen Singers are performing The Pride of America.鈥

LTC Ranked 6th for Online Education
The website Online Schools Guide rated Lincoln Trail College as the sixth-best online community college in the nation for 2022. They rated community colleges offering online or hybrid degree programs. Their rankings are based on the number of programs offered followed by cost, student reviews, and salary.

LTC Student Benefitting From CEFS Program
Eric Badger came to Lincoln Trail College late in life. He found himself out of a job after the company he was working for was bought out by another company. He turned to Maureen Hays and the CEFS organization to begin a new career and enrolled in classes at LTC in September of 2019.
鈥淚t was a lot of work at the beginning,鈥 says Badger. 鈥淭here was a lot of paperwork that I had to fill out, but it went quickly thanks to the help of Maureen.鈥
