Atallah Named LTC President
Dr. Zahi Atallah has been named the 11th President of Lincoln Trail College. Atallah is from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, where he was the founder of IncludED Consultants, an educational consulting firm that works to enhance student success, increase access to students with differing abilities and backgrounds, and provides classroom student support.  鈥淚鈥檓 very blessed and humbled to receive this opportunity,鈥 says Atallah. 鈥淚 wanted an opportunity to work in a small community in the Midwest that shares the same interest in higher education that I have.鈥

LTC Offering Summer Community Education Classes
Lincoln Trail College will offer a variety of community education classes over the summer, including a return of the popular Children鈥檚 Summer Theater and College For Kids programs. 鈥淲e weren鈥檛 able to offer these programs last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic,鈥 says Lincoln Trail College Coordinator of Marketing Chris Forde. 鈥淭hese are both very popular programs that bring more than 100 children to our campus each year. We also weren鈥檛 able to offer other community education classes for adults and we鈥檙e excited to bring those back too.

LTC Music Department Prepares for Spring Concerts
The Lincoln Trail College Music Department will present two concerts this Spring. The LTC Handbell Ensemble will have its concert on April 30 at 7 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Robinson. There is limited seating available for the concert and tickets are available at the church. There will also be a livestream of the concert at robinsonfumc.org/livestream.

LTC Earns 2nd in National Competition
Lincoln Trail College Process Technology students took second in the North American Process Technology Alliance鈥檚 Troubleshooting Skills Competition on April 24. LTC鈥檚 team was made up of Kyler Pankey, Dawson Hawkins, Christopher (Noah) Daugherty, and Austin Price.

LTC Inducts Members Into Honor Society
Lincoln Trail College鈥檚 Alpha Iota Epsilon Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society inducted its newest members at a ceremony on March 31. Phi Theta Kappa recognizes and encourages scholarship among two-year college students. An invitation for membership is extended to full-time students achieving at least a 3.5-grade point average.

Lincoln Trail College has named the three finalists for its next President. Dr. Kathleen Curphy, Dr. Zahi Atallah, and Mrs.Tona Ambrose will visit the college鈥檚 campus this week.

Cast Announced for LTC Production of Culture in a Cornfield
Tara Gallion has announced the cast for the Lincoln Trail College Spring 2021 production of 鈥淐ulture in a Cornfield.鈥 The production is a collection of short comedy skits and features both LTC students and members of the community.

Ordell Hired to Lead LTC Soccer Programs
Lincoln Trail College has hired Blake Ordell to be the head coach of the men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 soccer programs. Ordell played professional soccer for nine years throughout the United States, Sweden, and Canada and coached collegiately for ten years. He previously served as an assistant men鈥檚 soccer coach at Quincy University, head men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 soccer coach at Sheridan College, head men鈥檚 soccer coach at Culver-Stockton College, and assistant men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 soccer coach at MacMurray College.

Lincoln Trail College Celebrates Career and Technical Education Month
Career and Technical Education (CTE) prepares individuals for high-skill, in-demand employment that furthers Illinois鈥 global competitiveness. Last year, about half of all Illinois community college graduates earned a CTE degree or certificate. CTE programs offer flexible scheduling, work-based learning, and stackable credentials that provide a pathway from education to employment not only for recent high school graduates, but also for returning adults, veterans, and workers wanting to update their skills.

Statesmen Singers Offering Musical Virtual Valentines
